The most common leather repairs

Zippers fail first, and they're the most frequent job we see. A worn-out main zipper on an otherwise sound jacket is a straightforward replacement, and matching the hardware weight to the jacket matters as much as the repair itself — a light zipper on a heavy motorcycle jacket will fail again.

Linings go next. A lining that's shredded at the shoulders or torn through the sleeves can be replaced entirely, and it's usually the difference between a jacket that feels finished and one that feels finished with.

Then seams and fit. Split seams are repaired along the original stitch line where possible. Resizing is doable but has limits — leather can be taken in more readily than let out, because letting out exposes old needle holes.
